Design Tips
Letter Size
The size of your lettering is important. However, it’s not the
only factor to consider in the design phase. Letter style is equally
as important. Your sign could have 16” high letters in a condensed
style that could be less readable at a distance than 8” high
lettering in a normal or extended style.
We have a very simple method of determining at what distance your
sign will be readable so that you get a sign that works.
CONTRAST
Contrast is what creates readability. The greater the contrast,
the better the readability.
Some of the color combinations shown below may surprise you, but
it’s the “science” that many major national chains and highway
safety people have recognized and implemented for years.
